To launch the new VW Amarok in the UK VW has decided to do something different to resemble the uniqueness of the vehicle. Volkswagen has launched a Knowledge is Power integrated campaign, which includes outdoor, press, online as well as retail activity. Also in the marketing mix are social media and mobile campaigns.

The Amarok is a midsized pickup truck based on the same platform as the Volkswagen Touareg

and is classed as a Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle. It is available as a single and double cab model, in the UK it is only available as a double cab at the moment. The Amarok is available with either rear wheel drive or VWs 4motion four wheel drive system.

The Amarok went on sale on the 9th of May 2011 and the integrated marketing campaign went live at the same time.
